The Colours of Basey...

The Colours of Basey is a blessing given by Mother's Nature, apart from its landmarks dating back to the 17th Century. The Cathedral and the old cemetery known as the Buscada (forest) where several elite members of the Spanish Conquestadores are buried in the high walls of the Buscada Chapel. During the second world war, an island infront of Basey which is only about 20 minutes by outrigger now known as the JINAMOC (Joint Intelligence Naval Military Operation Center) Island was the nerve center for intelligence operation of the US Naval forces in the country has an embedded air strip and sea port. The return of Gen. Douglas MacArthur in 1944 was orchestrated by this operation center that led to the defeat of the Japanese Emperial Army. However, very little was known about this town, but its rich cultural heritage and natural wonders molded its people as they are humbly described as Basey or "Beauty".
